At the Japan CCUS Summit 2025, H.E. Eddy Soeparno, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, delivered a virtual address titled “Navigating the Regulatory Landscape for Cross-Border CCS Partnerships.”

H.E. Soeparno highlighted Indonesia’s strategic approach to advancing cross-border CCS collaboration, emphasizing the importance of regulatory harmonization, multi-stakeholder engagement, and policy mechanisms that encourage international investment. He also shared examples of ongoing regional initiatives, potential partnerships with neighboring countries, and the legislative frameworks that underpin Indonesia’s carbon reduction goals.

His address underscored the critical role of aligning policies and industry incentives to unlock CCUS potential across Southeast Asia and accelerate the region’s net-zero transition.
