ASIA'S TOP 1 EVENT FOR CARBON CAPTURE, UTILIZATION, AND STORAGE
In 2026, Japan’s CCUS market is entering a critical transition from policy development to investment execution, driven by nine JOGMEC-supported projects advancing toward FID and the full implementation of the GX-ETS, which is beginning to internalize carbon costs across major industrial sectors. At the same time, Japan is increasingly positioning itself as a regional hub for cross-border CO₂ management, with growing collaboration across Southeast Asia to develop transport and storage value chains. This marks a shift from demonstration projects to the early formation of a scalable, investable CCS infrastructure system toward 2030.
The Japan CCUS Summit 2026 (#CCUSJapan26) is Asia’s Top 1 event for carbon capture, utilization, and storage, bringing together over 600 key stakeholders and 80+ expert speakers from around the world. Scheduled for 19–20 October 2026 in Tokyo, this high-level summit will focus on scaling the commercialization of CCUS technologies through innovation, investment, and global partnerships. Delegates will explore crucial topics such as building bankable CCS investment frameworks, developing cross-border CO₂ transport and storage networks, advancing CCS hub models, and enabling industrial decarbonization under emerging carbon pricing systems such as GX-ETS. With a focus on markets including Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, and other Southeast Asian countries, the summit will also feature insights from leading international CCUS markets, shaping the future of global carbon management.
